A From October 20, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza exhibit Tears of Eros , an exhibition on eroticism and its many facets.

The intimate relationship between sexual instincts and death instincts-Eros and Thanatos in the visual arts is the theme of this exhibition, which borrows the title of a book by Georges Bataille: Les larmes d'Eros and also incorporates some of his ideas about eroticism: the need for beauty, temptation and transgression of a prohibition, or assimilation of the erotic to the religious sacrifice.

The exhibition consists of paintings, sculptures, photographs and videos and, as the curator, have no place in it all looks and all sexual orientations.

So, includesarchetypes such as the femme fatale, fetish erotic gay icons ... There is voyeurism, sadomasochism, and even a dark side: vampirism and cannibalism (and I enjoy thinking about the many visits I get from google after what I just writing).

One of the curiosities of this exhibition is that in the Museum Store can be purchased condoms, several news media have picked up with great joy and resourceful to holders of those that areso fond of fellows, and put it on, Make this ... with art (the world) or bold captions such as: Baroness Thyssen sell condoms (The Free Voice).
